Mix the vegetables well together: prepare the vegetable garden

Like humans, vegetables have likes and dislikes.

Some families stimulate or protect themselves. Others wear out and weaken.

Placing vegetables in the vegetable garden is not done like that and certain rules apply so as not to combine vegetables that might get in the way.

On the contrary, certain vegetables have the art of stimulating themselves.

The main families of vegetables:

In the vegetable garden, there are several families of vegetables, the main ones being :

  • Solanaceae: eggplant, chilli pepper, pepper, tomato, potato, etc,
  • umbellifera: carrot, celery, chervil, fennel, parsley, etc,
  • crucifers: cabbage, cress, turnip, radishhorseradish, etc,
  • legumes: bean, bean, lens, peas, etc) and
  • liliaceae: garlic, asparagus, shallot, onion, leek, etc.

Some families cohabit without problem while others cannot stand each other.

Families who get along well : umbelliferae, cruciferae and legumes.

Families who do not get along: liliaceae, nightshade and legumes.

These three families are definitely angry although it is not clear why. Perhaps because of the essences (called phytoncides) they emit to protect themselves from parasites and communicate with each other. As the science of interplant language is still recent, these are only hypotheses ...
