Her research focuses on crop manipulation and fruit quality in orchard tree crops, and on finding solutions to soil degradation. In particular, Sally works closely with industry to optimize crop yields and fruit quality. She also provides technical information and advice to orchardists and industry groups, and conducts workshops, seminars and training courses throughout Australia. She has extensive experience in research and development project management, project implementation, reporting and publishing, as well as industry-specific consulting. She has collaborated with or undertaken contract research for several international organisations, including private companies and government bodies, and has been chief investigator of numerous successful research grant awards, covering local and national projects.
