A Prayer to the Lineage of the Great and Glorious Dorje Drolö

གཞི་དབྱིངས་སྤྲོས་དང་བྲལ་བའི་ཀློང་ཆེན་པོར། །

zhi ying trö dang dralwé longchen por

In the vast expanse of basic space free from elaboration,

ཆོས་སྐུ་མི་འགྱུར་འོད་སྣང་མཐའ་ཡས་ལ། །

chöku mingyur ö nang tayé la

To the dharmakāya of unchanging and boundless radiance,

རིག་སྟོང་འཛིན་བྲལ་ངང་ནས་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

riktong dzindral ngang né solwa deb

From a state of awareness-emptiness, beyond grasping, I pray:

ཀ་དག་གནས་ལུགས་རྟོགས་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

kadak neluk tokpar jingyi lob

Inspire me to realize the natural state of primordial purity.

 

ངེས་པ་ལྔ་ལྡན་འོག་མིན་ཆེན་པོའི་ཞིང་། །

ngepa ngaden womin chenpö zhing

In the great Akaniṣṭha realm of fivefold certainty

ལོངས་སྐུ་ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཆེན་པོ་གངས་ཆེན་མཚོར། །

longku tukjé chenpo gangchen tsor

To the sambhogakāya Great Compassionate Himasāgara,

གསལ་སྟོང་ཟུང་འཇུག་ངང་ནས་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

saltong zungjuk ngang né solwa deb

From a state of clarity and emptiness in union, I pray:

ལྷུན་གྲུབ་རྩལ་ཆེན་རྫོགས་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

lhündrub tsal chen dzokpar jingyi lob

Inspire me to perfect the great potential of spontaneous presence.

 

གང་འདུལ་འགྲོ་བ་འདུལ་བའི་ཞིང་ཁམས་ནས། །

gang dul drowa dulwé zhingkham né

In the realms where beings are tamed by any means necessary,

རིག་རྩལ་སྤྲུལ་སྐུ་དཔལ་ཆེན་གྲོ་ལོད་ལ། །

riktsal tulku palchen dro lö la

To the nirmāṇakāya power of awareness, awesome Dorje Drolö,

རོལ་རྩལ་འགགས་མེད་ངང་ནས་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

roltsal gakmé ngang né solwa deb

From a state of unceasing creative manifestation, I pray:

འགྲོ་དོན་ཕྱོགས་མེད་འབྱུང་བར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

drodön chokmé jungwar jingyi lob

Inspire me to bring benefit to beings without partiality.

 

བསམ་ཡས་དབུ་རྩེ་རིགས་གསུམ་ཕོ་བྲང་ནས། །

samyé u tsé rik sum podrang né

In the three-storey central temple of Samyé,

ཆོས་རྒྱལ་ཚངས་པ་ལྷ་ཡི་མེ་ཏོག་ལ། །

chögyal tsangpa lha yi metok la

To the dharma-king Tsangpa Lhayi Metok,1

རང་སྣང་དག་པའི་ངང་ནས་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

rangnang dakpé ngang né solwa deb

From a state of pure natural perception, I pray:

མཁྱེན་གཉིས་རྩལ་ཆེན་རྫོགས་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

khyen nyi tsal chen dzokpar jingyi lob

Inspire me to perfect the great strength of twofold knowledge.

 

གཞོ་སྟོད་ཏི་སྒྲོའི་ཚོགས་ཁང་ཆེན་མོ་ན། །

zho tö ti drö tsokkhang chenmo na

In the great assembly hall of Zhotö Tidro,

ཌཱ་ཀིའི་གཙོ་མོ་བདེ་ཆེན་མཚོ་རྒྱལ་ལ། །

daki tsomo dechen tsogyal la

To the foremost of ḍākinīs, Tsogyal of great bliss,

བདེ་ཆེན་དགའ་བཞིའི་ངང་ནས་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

dechen ga zhi ngang né solwa deb

From a state of fourfold joy and ecstasy, I pray:

ཆོས་ཉིད་ཟད་སར་གྲོལ་བར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

chönyi zé sar drolwar jingyi lob

Inspire me to find freedom in the exhaustion of phenomenal reality.

 

གར་བཞུགས་བདེ་ཆེན་དག་པའི་ཞིང་ཁམས་སུ། །

gar zhuk dechen dakpé zhingkham su

In the pure realm of great bliss wherever one resides,

ཡེ་ཤེས་སྤྱན་ལྡན་བཻ་རོ་ཙཱ་ན་ལ། །

yeshe chenden bai ro tsa na la

To Vairotsana, possessor of the eyes of wisdom,

ཡིད་ཆེས་དད་པའི་ངང་ནས་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

yiché depé ngang né solwa deb

From a state of confident faith, I pray:

དགོངས་པ་མཁའ་དང་མཉམ་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

gongpa kha dang nyampar jingyi lob

Inspire me to gain realization as vast as space.

 

ཕྱོགས་མེད་རྒྱལ་ཁམས་ཡངས་པའི་སྨན་ལྗོངས་ན། །

chokmé gyalkham yangpé men jong na

In the vast medicinal lands of realms beyond location,

པདྨ་འོད་གསལ་མདོ་སྔགས་གླིང་པ་ལ། །

pema ösal do ngak lingpa la

To Pema Ösel Dongak Lingpa,2

མོས་གུས་གདུང་ཤུགས་དྲག་པོས་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

mögü dungshuk drakpö solwa deb

From a state of ardent and intense devotion, I pray:

ལུང་རྟོགས་ཡོན་ཏན་རྒྱས་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

lungtok yönten gyepar jingyi lob

Inspire me to develop the qualities of learning and realization.

 

དེ་ཝི་ཀོ་ཊའི་དཔལ་ཆེན་གཞལ་མེད་ཁང་། །

déwi ko té palchen zhalmé khang

In the great and glorious palace of Devikoṭi,

འཆི་མེད་བསྟན་གཉིས་གཡུང་དྲུང་གླིང་པ་ལ། །

chimé ten nyi yungdrung lingpa la

To Chimé Tennyi Yungdrung Lingpa,3

འབྲལ་མེད་སྙིང་གི་དཀྱིལ་ནས་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

dralmé nying gi kyil né solwa deb

Constantly from the depths of my heart, I pray:

གསང་གསུམ་དངོས་གྲུབ་ཐོབ་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

sang sum ngödrub tobpar jingyi lob

Inspire me to attain the siddhis of the three secrets.

 

བྱང་ཕྱོགས་ཀྃ་ལ་ཤ་ཡི་ཕོ་བྲང་ཆེར། །

jangchok kam la sha yi podrang cher

In the great palace of Kailash to the north,4

མི་ཕམ་འཇམ་དཔལ་དགྱེས་པའི་རྡོ་རྗེ་ལ། །

mipam jampal gyepé dorjé la

To Mipham Jampal Gyepé Dorje,

བཀའ་དྲིན་དྲན་པའི་ངང་ནས་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

kadrin drenpé ngang né solwa deb

From a state of recollecting kindness, I pray:

སྤོབས་པའི་གཏེར་མཛོད་གྲོལ་བར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

pobpé terdzö drolwar jingyi lob

Inspire me to release the treasury of courageous eloquence.

 

སྤྱི་གཙུག་ཉི་ཟླ་པདྨའི་གདན་སྟེང་ན། །

chitsuk nyida pemé den teng na

On the seats of sun and moon and lotus at my crown,

ཀུན་མཁྱེན་བླ་མ་པདྨ་བི་ཛ་ལ། །

künkhyen lama pema bi dza la

To the omniscient guru Padma Vijaya,5

བཟོད་མེད་གདུང་ཤུགས་དྲག་པོས་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས།། །།

zömé dungshuk drakpö solwa deb

With intense, unbearable longing, I pray.6
