Earlier this month, we celebrated Digital Inclusion Week. From in-person technology workshops to virtual events, we helped bridge the digital divide for hundreds of participants. A highlight of the week: working to get San Francisco’s City Hall lit up in teal to celebrate digital inclusion!

Did you know that 96.7% of the internet has accessibility issues? That means only 3.3% of the internet (including websites, apps, and other digital tools) is fully accessible to people with disabilities. Yet, accessibility is a key element of digital inclusion! What is the point of having home internet, a device, and digital skills if the websites that someone wants to visit are not accessible to them?
In our latest blog, we discuss practical solutions to this accessibility gap. Whether you’re a digital skills instructor, policymaker, web designer, or even just an everyday fellow who occasionally posts on social media, we’ll offer real strategies that you can implement to make the internet a friendlier place for people with disabilities. Promoting digital inclusion requires a collective effort from all of us.
If you or a loved one has a disability, this blog will also highlight accessibility features that you can use to improve your digital experience. We will showcase tools and techniques to help navigate the web more effectively, empowering you to take fuller advantage of the digital world.
