DIGITAL SKILLS CLASSES FOR PARENTS IN AUSTIN
Last November, CTN partnered with Latinitas to provide a basic digital literacy class for 15 parents and grandparents at Martin Middle School in Austin. Upon completion of the 8-hour course, each participant received a refurbished laptop. Read more on the class on the CTN blog
ANOTHER GREAT YEAR WITH TECHWOMEN
On October 26, CTN hosted another San Francisco Tech Teach-In event with TechWomen at 30th Street Senior Center. Nine volunteers helped out women from 10 different countries during the two-hour event. Read more the event on the CTN blog
SENIORS IN THE SUNSET LEARN TABLET SKILLS
Last October, CTN taught their final class as part of Sunset Tech Connect in San Francisco. In total, 48 older adults graduated from this 12-week training on general Internet skills and took home a Samsung Galaxy tablet. Learn more on the CTN blog
EXPANDING DIGITAL LITERACY IN CHINATOWN
CTN renewed its contract with the City of San Francisco to provide a mix of multi-session classes on the basics of using a computer and the internet, as well as intermediate skills needed for office work. This is CTN’s third year working with the city to help residents in low-incoming housing developments improve their digital skills. Learn more on the CTN blog.
