On August 17, Community Tech Network and four other organizations were recognized as Community All Stars by the Giants and AT&T. This program has been in effect for 12 years and brings together a group of local organizations who attend a home plate ceremony at a Giants game and receive a $10,000 grant.
Pictured here are Kami Griffiths and Laurie Sanchez from CTN and Cammy Blackston from AT&T. Cammy nominated CTN for the award and has this to say:
Community Tech Network is one organization supporting digital literacy and helping ensure that more seniors can fully participate in today’s digital age. AT&T is also committed to bridging the technology skills gap and is helping to educate older adults about how to use mobile technology through our national digital literacy initiative, Digital You.
AT&T, along with a few other ISPs like Comcast, are offering a low-cost internet option called Access. Click here for more details about the Access program.
The other organizations selected for the 2016 Community All Stars are Curry Senior Center and 30th Street Senior Center (both are partners with CTN for our SF Connected program), the Institute on Aging, and Kimochi Senior Center. Here’s a link to the video of the Home Plate Ceremony.
We thank AT&T and the Giants for their support! If you think that closing the digital divide for everyone is important, please consider making a tax deductible donation here.
