Thanks to the support of Twitter, residents of the Tenderloin, mid-Market and SOMA neighborhoods can continue to gain crucial digital literacy skills and receive personalized training at the NeighborNest, a family-friendly community learning center. CTN recently received a grant from Twitter in the sum of $45,000 to continue to offer basic and intermediate digital literacy workshops in English and Spanish at the NeighborNest for a third year in a row. Each year, we learn something new about how to best serve clients and look forward to providing training that meets the needs of the community in 2018.
CTN has collaborated with Twitter since 2014 to bridge the digital divide, first by providing guidance on setting up their computer lab and volunteer program and later by offering digital literacy workshops. In 2016, CTN developed and implemented the pilot for a basic computer and internet skills workshops in English and Spanish at the NeighborNest and continued teaching workshops in 2017.
We are both excited and thankful for Twitter’s contribution to our continuing efforts in bridging the divide.
