On Monday, September 24, the Austin staff attended the annual Celia Bell awards to recognize Kami Griffiths as a finalist for the award for nonprofit leader in the Austin community. Kami was one of three finalists for the Celia Bell award, recognizing excellence in business community impact. The 2018 winners were chosen from a pool of 40 nonprofit applicants.
The awards were presented by SCORE, a nonprofit association dedicated to educating entrepreneurs and helping small businesses start, grow, and maintain their businesses. The SCORE Austin chapter has over 50 volunteer mentors who share their entrepreneurial business knowledge. Mentors come from a variety of industries. Kami meets with a SCORE mentor each month.
“SCORE has been a great resource as CTN has worked through the challenges of expanding our nonprofit from one city to two. My mentor, Beth, really understands our situation and has been very helpful to me in providing guidance to the board as we make some tough decisions.”
