digitalLIFT is a Community Tech Network initiative that packages 16 years of practical digital inclusion experience into affordable and accessible learning products for organizations that work to bridge the digital divide. We have training available for your organization’s leadership team and program managers, instructors, volunteers, digital navigators, and Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) enrollment specialists.
One of our goals has been to make sure that all of our partners — whether they are large or small organizations and whether they have decades of experience or are new to the industry — are able to select the learning format that best suits their needs. That is why our digitalLIFT capacity-building products are, as a rule, available in two distinct formats.
Online Courses
First, we offer online courses that learners can take on demand, at any time. Individuals can self-enroll and proceed at their own pace. All such courses contain a healthy mix of text, videos, and interactive quizzes to keep learners engaged. Moreover, the content is regularly updated by the digtalLIFT team and reflects the most current state of the rapidly growing and changing industry of digital inclusion with its resources, projects, and initiatives.
This format is ideal for self-starters, individuals who want to acquire knowledge and skills necessary to work in the digital inclusion field, or smaller organizations with limited budgets and just one or two employees directly performing digital inclusion–related activities. When there is no need to coordinate a team and make sure everyone is on the same page, the flexibility of self-paced learning is an advantage. Both free and paid online courses are available. You can view all available courses here.
LIFT Packages
If you are an organization that could benefit from direct support and communication from our team, then we recommend the “full LIFT experience,” which includes enrollment into the course, as well as the corresponding community forum, a 90-minute live workshop/debrief, and a multitude of resources and tools. For such projects, the digitalLIFT team provides full, wraparound service, which includes flexible workshop dates, technical and academic support, discussions, and feedback. The main advantage of the full LIFT experience is, of course, direct communication and knowledge sharing with other digital inclusion practitioners, whether on the community forum, at the workshop, or while conversing with CTN’s expert team.
“As educators, we know that communication and the opportunity to ask questions is incredibly valuable,” says Alexey Morov, CTN’s Learning and Development Manager. “The debriefs ensure that the learners are engaged and share a common understanding of key concepts and practices. We review real-life scenarios and challenges and discuss relevant solutions.”
Additionally, full LIFT recipients receive a complimentary basic digital skills curriculum that can be used immediately to train learners directly. Our curriculum library includes dozens of trainings that are available in various languages and for many types of devices. As an added service, organizations can customize curricular solutions to meet their specific needs. Each LIFT curriculum comes with our signature Trainer Package (a learner booklet and trainer guide), as well as an invaluable Resource Package, which includes numerous helpful templates and sample documents that you may need, such as a Device Loaner Agreement, Needs Assessment, Photo Release form, Pre/Post Surveys, among others.
