Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have provided devices and training to over 200 seniors in San Francisco. These seniors should now be able to use this newfound online access to sign up for their vaccination or learn where they can go. But there is so much information to sort through!
We hope that this post can serve as a resource guide for our learners and the trainers who are supporting them. We’ve collected vaccination sites and registration information for San Francisco residents. This post will be updated as information changes.
California COVID-19 Hotline
To make an appointment or to receive information, contact 1-833-422-4245.
This hotline operates Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm, and Saturday, 8am to 5pm.
Locations
The City has partnered with healthcare providers to establish high-volume vaccine sites that will provide vaccines to eligible individuals free of charge — no health insurance required.
Kaiser USF Koret Center: Starting April 14th through April 29th, COVID-19 vaccine appointments are available for adults 65+ and people with disabilities

You do not need to be a Kaiser patient, and your second vaccine appointment (if needed) will be scheduled at the time of your first dose.

CVS Pharmacies: Select CVS locations are offering the vaccine to eligible individuals at “no cost with most insurance plans or through a federal program for the uninsured.” Bay Area residents can check for availability and register for an appointment at CVS.com. Individuals without online access can contact CVS Customer Service at 1-800-746-7287. (Walk-ins will not be vaccinated.)

Transportation to Vaccine Appointments
SF Paratransit: Provides Essential Trip Card for seniors (65 and older) by calling 311 and mentioning the program. It provides heavily subsidized taxi rides for seniors and people with disabilities. Customers who pay $6 will receive $30 of taxi trips with a limit of $60 of subsidized taxi trips a month. For more information, visit the SF Paratransit website. A card will come in the mail and must be activated prior to use. Funds are loaded online or over the phone at 415-351-7052.
San Francisco Access Van Service: SF Access is a pre-scheduled, ADA- compliant van service providing door- to-door transportation to ADA eligible riders. SF Access is a shared-ride service.You must make reservations from one to seven days before the day of your trip, and service will be scheduled within one hour of your requested pickup time. To schedule, call 415-285-6945.
Free Muni Service: Starting on Tuesday, February 23, Muni and Paratransit will be free for those traveling to get vaccinated for COVID-19. This includes trips in both directions. The SFMTA is also providing additional access to taxi service for those who use the Essential Trip Card.

Avoiding Scams
As the COVID-19 vaccine continues to become more widely available for eligible San Franciscans, scams relating to the vaccine are becoming more common. It is important that all San Franciscans, especially those most vulnerable to these malicious attempts, understand how to avoid them. Below is a list of talking points surrounding vaccine scams. Please see this link for translations to these points in Chinese, Spanish, and Filipino. See the Federal Trade Commission site for more information on vaccine scams.
- No legitimate employee or person from the City, State, or Federal government will call about the COVID-19 vaccine and ask for your Social Security number, bank account, or credit card number. That’s a scam.
- You cannot pay for early access to the COVID-19 vaccine. If you receive a call, text, email, or other message offering to sell early access, that’s a scam. Do not respond.
- You cannot pay to put your name on a list for the COVID-19 vaccine. If you receive a call, text, email, or other message offering to sell a spot on a list for the vaccine, that’s a scam. Do not respond.
- If you receive a call, text, or email offering the COVID-19 vaccine and requesting your personal or financial information, that’s a scam. Do not respond.
- Avoid COVID-19 scams by learning how to tell the difference between a real contact tracer and a scammer. Legitimate tracers need health information, not money or personal financial information. Ignore offers of vaccinations and miracle treatments or cures for sale.
- Scammers are selling products to treat or prevent COVID-19 without proof that they work. No one legitimate from the City, State, or Federal government will call or text you and ask you to pay for the COVID-19 vaccine. That’s a scam.
