A question uttered by more than a few San Francisco residents over the years. Nestled in the corner of Glen Canyon Park, it is easy to miss its open fields and rustic children’s playgrounds that are surrounded on all sides by high slopes and a charming shopping center. Enter Eric Beattie. Local resident, CTN board member, and lead singer of Eric Beattie & The Party Ants, Eric felt that Christopher was too much of a gem to be passed up by families in the surrounding neighborhoods.
In 2017, Eric decided it was time to put Christopher Park on the map. Realizing Christopher Park was indeed already on Google Maps, he decided to throw a party instead. Now in its second year, the “Where in the World is Christopher Park Festival” attracted over 1,100 people this year.
The festival included different musical groups for families and their children, games, food, and local organizations, including CTN. Highlights included a snake that could be held by kids, a bouncy house that could be jumped in by kids, and bubble soccer that could be played by kids.
Adults were allowed to watch.
If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area, keep your calendar open next October for the third annual “Where in the World is Christopher Park Festival.” And if you haven’t already started volunteering with CTN by then, feel free to stop by. We have really cool stickers for the kids.
