On March 28, 2014, CTN’s first E-Health Literacy Workshop successfully finished up at Aquatic Park Senior Center! Eight seniors attended. CTN volunteers Carol Wexelbaum and Norman Bohrer worked together to deliver the workshop and provide one-on-one tutoring sessions. Though the seniors who attended the workshop used computers on a regular basis, accessing health information online was still a challenge to them.
After completing the workshop and tutor sessions, the seniors report that they are now more confident in evaluating online health information. They also said that they are now more confident in looking up information about health conditions using the Internet.
Accessing health information on the Internet is becoming more and more important, and CTN is proud to provide the E-Health Literacy Workshop to help seniors overcome some of the challenges they have with it.
